Dark Night Party 2026: Spirits are Forever with You

Each autumn, as the nights grow longer and the lanterns burn a little brighter, the Dark Night Historical Society opens its archives for a single evening of mystery, folklore, and exploration.

This year's exhibition, Spirits Are Forever with You, invites travelers to discover the many ways people throughout history have understood the unseen companions who walk beside us. Whether remembered as ancestors, guardian spirits, familiars, intuition, coincidence, or simply the stories we carry through life, the evening celebrates humanity's enduring fascination with the unknown.

The Dark Night Historical Society is a fictional historical society created to explore and celebrate esoteric knowledge of the occult and of magick. The experiences presented throughout the evening are intended for storytelling, entertainment, and personal reflection. Guests are encouraged to participate in as much—or as little—as they wish.

Your Pilgrimage

Upon arrival, each guest receives a Pilgrim's Field Journal and begins a symbolic journey through a lantern-lit labyrinth.

Along the way, you'll visit four interactive stations inspired by the four Cardinal Points of Jere's Epiphanies. Each station offers a different opportunity to set your intention for the path with an incantation, cast a spell of protection using candles, discover your familiar, & ground yourself before entering the tent at the end of the path for a tarot reading.

At the center of the labyrinth, the Dark Night Historical Society welcomes a special guest:

After completing your pilgrimage, you'll meet with Jere for a Cardinal Tarot Reading.

Together, you'll explore the symbols, choices, and experiences from your journey through the labyrinth and discover how they may illuminate your own path.

Whether you leave with new questions, a fresh perspective, or simply an unforgettable evening, our hope is that you'll discover what generations of travelers have always known:

Event FAQs

How do I attend?

Since this is the first time this event is being held, it is by invitation only. In the invitation there is a link or a QR code that will take you to a Google Form to RSVP. If you RSVP affirmative, you will receive the exact address and will be notified of any changes or news about the event. This event is free to attend.

What do I wear / Do I wear a costume?

This is not a halloween party or a costume party. Please be comfortable and weather appropriate. The party is held in my back yard and in my garage at night. You absolutely may dress in costume as you feel comfortable to do so.

Do I need to bring anything, will there be food & drink, etc?

There will be some light food and non alcoholic beverages. Please feel free to bring your own if you are worried about food allergies, or have specific preferences on beverages. Feel free to bring a lawn chair or the like especially if you are wanting to hang out for a bit.

Can I bring a guest / Can I bring kids?

Yes, you may bring guests and kids. This event is designed for adults but so long as the participants are comfortable with general occult themes, all are welcome. If anyone is not comfortable with Tarot, Magick, & similar topics, please do not come.

Are you a psychic / medium?

I do not claim to be a psychic or a medium. I am an experienced tarot reader. I use my knowledge of the symbols on the cards and my intuition to present divergent ways of answering questions posed to me. This event is for entertainment purposes only and will explore occult topics and will answer serious questions without the pretense of psychic powers.
